Dear Friends of Dentistry With Heart

As usual, it has been a very busy year. 2008 took us to Nicaragua, Guatemala and Africa. It was a very rewarding year.  We were not quite as actice as in other years, but are proud to report that we were blessed with two more grandchildren. Carson and Peyton.

In April 2009 we went back once again to I AM Orphanage in Uganda where we treated the children as well as the surrounding community. The need is very great in Uganda and Dentistry With Heart is determined to make a difference.

The orphanage sent out a Choir last year to the western United States where they were able to raise $20,000.00. With this money 
I AM bought a piece of property which will be the future home of the new orphanage as well as a school for the children.
We are currently raising money to clear the property so we can start planting vegetables to feed the kids. Once we raise a significant portion of the money to built the orphange we will commence construction.

We took a couple young men with us on our last trip who organized a Soccer tournament. The tournament was such a great success that we have comited to sponsor the tournament every year.

Richmond Youth Soccer replaced all their uniforms last year and donated the old once to us. This was a tremendous help and I would say without this donation we would not have been able to do this worthwhile project.  Darryl from North Shore Sport Swap donated 120 of soccer cleats as well as socks, knee pads etc.

In May we were instrumental in sending a Dental Team to Vietnam. The team has just returned and I will get the particulars soon. I know that the trip was a great success and over 800 children were treated.

2010 is fast approaching and we have a few things planned. First we will be taking a team to the HOUSE OF JUDAH in Jinotepe, Nicaragua. This will be a Dental Team as well as a team of young adults who will work with the children to give the normal caregivers a break. We will also be doing a feeding program in the community. The dates for this trip are December 26/2009 to January 5,2009.

At the end of February we are going to the Philippines in conjunction with Rotary International. This will be a rather large team and we are planning to work at three different locations while there.

In April it is back to Uganda. Soccer tournament as well as humanitarian help.

With the restrictions on luggage these days we are not able to take as much with us as in the past. Even though we would love to bring used clothing, shoes,toys etc. we can only take a limited amount. If you would like to help us with these endeavors we would appreciate cash donations. We will then use the cash to buy what we need at our destination.
